Reflecting on 2024: A Year of Art, Connection, and Purpose

As the year draws to a close, it’s incredible to reflect on the milestones F.A.C.E. Makeup Artistry has achieved in 2024. This year was a blend of creativity, community engagement, and recognition that underscored the power of beauty as both an art form and a means of connection.

Early in the year, F.A.C.E. participated in the Yeiser Art Center Member Exhibition with “As Within, So Without”, an art piece that celebrated the duality of inner and outer beauty. Using refurbished vintage compacts as symbols of alignment, this work invited viewers to explore the interconnectedness of their own self-perception and the world around them. This opportunity not only represented the beauty industry in an artful context but also reinforced the idea that makeup is more than technique—it’s artistry.

The Beauty Egg Hunt for a Cause in April brought joy and generosity to the community. Participants delighted in surprise beauty products while their contributions supported Look Good, Feel Better, a program dedicated to empowering cancer patients through beauty workshops. It was heartwarming to see how a lighthearted event could make such a meaningful difference.

Recognition also came this year with F.A.C.E. being included in VUE Magazine’s “40 Under Forty” list. This honor celebrated the studio’s commitment to authenticity, diversity, and innovation. One concept shared during the feature was the idea that “You Are Traffic.” This perspective invites us to recognize how we actively contribute to the systems we’re part of—whether on the road, in social spaces, or in our communities. For F.A.C.E., this meant stepping away from the constant churn of social media and instead fostering organic relationships and meaningful connections that have fueled growth in more authentic ways.

F.A.C.E. also partnered with OutFit Inc., a nonprofit founded by Sam Bussey, executive director, and supported by Korrina Davidson, assistant executive director. OutFit is dedicated to uplifting the LGBTQIA+ community in Paducah and surrounding areas. This collaboration highlighted a shared vision: that beauty should be a space where everyone feels included, celebrated, and empowered, regardless of their identity or background.

From gallery exhibitions to heartfelt partnerships and accolades, 2024 has been a testament to the impact of blending passion with purpose. Thank you for being a part of this journey—together, we’ve made this year one to remember. Here’s to an even brighter 2025!
