The people in our lives are constantly changing right in front of our eyes. This also means we are changing and if we don’t recognize our own evolution, we may as well be living with our eyes wide shut.

Understanding bygone days is perfectly warranted if the issue is accepting the past. But if the issue is changing the future, understanding will not take you there. My experience tells me that the only effective approach is looking people in the eye and saying, “If you want to change, do this.”

The adage “what got you here won’t get you there” applies to makeup services across all ages. Just as individuals evolve and mature, so too must their approach to makeup. It’s about adapting, learning new techniques, and understanding how to enhance one’s features at every stage of life.

In adolescence, experimentation often reigns supreme. Young individuals might rely on bold, trend-driven looks, embracing vibrant colors and dramatic techniques. However, as they transition into adulthood, the emphasis often shifts towards refining their style, understanding their unique features, and mastering foundational techniques like proper skincare and natural-looking makeup application. What worked during their teenage years—heavy contouring or flashy eye makeup—might no longer serve them well in their professional or social circles.

Similarly, in adulthood, the focus might shift towards more sophisticated and timeless makeup looks. Individuals in their thirties and forties may prioritize skincare and anti-aging techniques, seeking makeup lessons that emphasize enhancing their features while still looking polished and professional. They may need to unlearn habits from their younger years—such as over-plucking eyebrows or using heavy, cakey foundations—and adopt new practices that prioritize skin health and a more subtle approach to makeup.

As individuals enter their golden years, makeup lessons take on a new significance. Mature skin requires different products and techniques to address issues like fine lines, wrinkles, and loss of elasticity. Makeup lessons tailored to this demographic would focus on techniques to enhance natural beauty, add luminosity to the skin, and minimize the appearance of imperfections without settling into fine lines or looking heavy.

F.A.C.E. Makeup Artistry understands that every woman is unique and deserves uninterrupted services done by an accredited professional. Artist/Owner, Erin Hendley, prioritizes her clients with undivided attention and zero distractions. This mantra is so important to Erin, there are no other employees, and therefore, no other clients receiving services at the same time. Discretion and privacy are imperative for a relaxing beauty experience. This is why F.A.C.E. offers makeup services and in-studio product shopping by appointment only.
