The expression “as within, so without” is considered to be a universal truth showing us that the outside world reflects our inner landscapes of mind and soul. It serves as a reminder that we cannot achieve our purpose without first mastering harmony between spiritual and physical realms.
Each year, Yeiser Art Center proudly hosts the Members Exhibition to honor its members and showcase their artistic works in a single comprehensive show. This exhibition also brings in important funds for the gallery in the form of renewed memberships, sponsorships, multiple submissions, and gallery sales.

YAC Members are diverse in their artistic practices and mediums and include (but are not limited to) fiber artists, sculptors, painters, poets, performers, and photographers.

Society is so accustomed to seeing hair, makeup, and nails around us every day that many people don’t think of it as a true art that deserves its own showcase. As our communities become predominantly self-image driven, the creation of such displays is becoming a cultural imperative.

Actual cosmetics have been used to paint the compacts’ exteriors to symbolize interconnectedness and alignment. The compacts open to reveal their custom color palettes ready for use. They become vessels for introspection, inviting viewers to contemplate the duality of inner and outer beauty.
As a Makeup Artist, my work is focused on enhancing the human canvas as well as contributing to sustainability through refurbishing vintage compacts to house new, usable, and refillable product.
