Looking at Beauty Vs. Living in It

LISTEN TO BLOG POST

Hair, nails, and makeup exist under the same cosmetology umbrella, yet each plays a different role in how we perceive ourselves. Nails are fully visible—we see them throughout the day, admiring the polish, the shape, the artistry. Hair, if long enough, offers glimpses—a reminder of its presence but never the full picture. Makeup, however, is invisible to us once applied. We trust the mirror, but we do not directly experience its effect.

This realization raises a deeper question: How does visibility impact our perception of beauty and self-worth? Do we feel more confident in what we can actively see, or does the unseen have a stronger hold on how we move through the world? If we cannot witness our own beauty in action, are we shaping it for ourselves or for others?

Perhaps beauty is not just about what is seen but what is felt. And maybe, the most powerful beauty is the one we don’t need to check—only embody.
