Beauty Beyond Diagnosis

One of the most rewarding parts of my work in beauty is about restoring confidence where it’s been shaken. Look Good Feel Better is a free, nationwide program that teaches beauty techniques to people undergoing cancer treatment. From skin care to makeup application, the goal is simple: help participants look in the mirror and see themselves again.

In the Paducah area, Dana of Meraki House of Style and I (Erin of F.A.C.E. Makeup Artistry) are proud to serve as local workshop volunteers. Together, we guide participants through hands-on sessions that bring back the appearance of brows and hair, as well as smiles, laughter, and a sense of normalcy during a challenging chapter.

Whether it’s learning to correct skin discoloration from treatment or finding the right moisturizer for sensitive, treatment-affected skin, these small steps can have a big impact on self-esteem. The workshops are a safe space where beauty provides support with identity, dignity, and hope.

You can register for upcoming workshops here. There is no cost and each attendee is provided a makeup kit from the program’s cosmetic sponsors.

Recently, WPSD-TV stopped by to learn more about the program and why it matters to our community. Their interest is a reminder that beauty, at its best, is about care, connection, and compassion.
